My 5 month old needs 3 naps a day to be happy, but there isn't enough time in the day. He wakes up between 6:00 and 7:00, usually goes down for 1st nap by 9:00, sleeps 1 hour to 1 1/2, goes back down around 12:30 and 1:00, sleeps 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I like to put him down around 4:30 for an hour catnap but if he wakes up closer to 3:00 or after he isn't tired. If I put him down later than 4:30 he won't be tired at 7:30 but if he doesn't get that catnap he is crabbie by 6:30 and asleep soon after. Can anyone help me get him on a schedule for 3 naps?

I had a frequent napper as well. We would get up at 6am, drink a bottle, then take first nap almost right after we woke up. From about 7-8 he would sleep. Then next nap from 11a-12:30p (approx). Last nap from 4p-5:30p. Then to bed for the night at about 9pm after a bath, solids, bottle, and a book (with a rock of course:) ).

Good luck.

hello,
I recomend you buying the book by the name of " Healthy sleep habits, happy baby" this book saved my life. easy to read and it has sections for each months of baby growing up so you don't have to read it all at once. Good luck

My dd is almost 8 months and she takes 3 good naps. She's up around 6am. She naps around 9am for 1-1 1/2 hrs, around 1pm for 1-1 1/2 hours, and around 6pm for another hour. She goes down for the night between 8:30-9:30 and sleeps through the night. If she doesn't get all her rest she is an absolute mess. This works for us. Hope that helps.

You lucky mamas-----at least your baby's nap!!! hehehe i've tried everything! :) The only time DS naps is when he's in the car---and those naps are about 10-15 minutes during driving time! :) hehe When he's awake---he wants to play and be involved in everything and everyones business. hehehe :) He's 7 months by the way :)
