Early January I started baby on cereal, now I have ramped her up to 3 times per day for cereal. Yesterday I started to introduce some veggies at lunch feeding.....she almost ate a full jar plus cereal. How do you or when should you eliminate the cereal and just give veggies and fruit or should you? Any links or articles on transitioning are welcomed.

I started cereal in Jan. also and now I am on veggies/fruit. I only give cereal for breakfast with a little fruit. I feel like you should give food according to the meal (well as much as you can). I can't believe she is eating so much. I only give about 2 tablespoons of cereal or vegetables right now. My son is only 5 months though. I want to make sure his main source is still formula so I don't want him eating too much solids. This was the adivce of my dr. and friends.

Yes, my girl is 5 months too, and eats 4tbls 3 times daily, sometimes eating more or less. I give her veggies at her lunch time feeding. From what I've read incorporating fruit with cereal will help with constipation or bowl movements. Right now I'm adding wheat germ to her cereal. I was such a picky eater, I am affraid to start her with fruit, but I guess it will help her alot and it's inevitable. :)

thanks bap
