All,

First of all thanks to everyone who has taken time out to share their experience with GERD/ LPR on this website. I am 26 yr old female who was diagnosed with GERD last year in June. Change of lifestlye ( eating , tennis, family ) helped me completely recover in about 2 months.

I was in India for about 3 months and returned back in Dec. Within 2 days, I developed symptoms that I never had before ( tightness in throat, chronic sore throat) .. and have doubled up on PPI since then. Indeed it has been diagnosed for LPR.

My concern is that since the larynx does not have a natural protection against acids, should we / should we not exercise. Can I still play tennis, run , jog etc... or should it be much milder like Yoga, Pilates. Any suggestions ? Thank you very much.

JMO, but I think exercise, even if we don't feel up to it, is important. It helps keep the system flowing... One of the things the GI doc told me was to make sure to exercise because if things slow down, wastes back up and make the problem worse.
That said, I think about exercising more than I actually do it. ;)
