Hi I Went To The Hos On Mon And The Heamatoligist Told Me I Hav E T And Have Tested Positve For Jak 2 Mutation When I Asked Her If It Could Progress To Polythemia Vera (not Sure Of Spelling) She Said That Some Experts Would Say That They Think It Could One And The Same Disorder. Has Anyone Else Heard Of This ? I Relly Dont Want The Polythemia Vera Thing, I Would Be Just Ok With Having Et. I Am 39 Yrs Old And 21 Weeks Pregnant, 4th Prg ,other 3 Ended In Miscarraige. I Am Pretty Frightened About The Outcome Of My Preg, Doc Sad I Wont Be Able To Have Epidural......any Knowledge To Share ? Any Articles To Read? Would Much Appreciate It... Thankyou

I don't know of any articles, but if you do a google search with essential thrombocythemia or essential thrombocytosis or maybe mpd list, you should be able to find a couple of the other lists or boards where there are many, many people with ET or PV.

There is still so much unknown about these disorders.
