Hi everyone! I just found out yesterday that I am a candidate for a CI:cool:

The only CI they had to show me was the Nucleaus Freedom, but said that my doctor does implant different brands. I tried on the ear piece, and I am concearned about the thickness of it. I have small ears and have had trouble with behind the ear aids because they cause my ear lobe to hurt after wearing them for hours every day - the BTE piece pushes my ear out too much. The CI processor is thicker and heavier.

I am wondering if anyone has or has seen other brands of CI's and how they compare to the thickness of either the Freedom or to a BTE hearing aid. I am really concerned about not being able to wear the processor. I know there are body processors, but with the Freedom, you still have the ear piece. Thanks.
