It's weird, like the sound you hear on an ultrasound when you're pregnant(fetal heartbeat). It's so loud to, it's annoying. I went to my doc yesterday and she says I have some fluid in my ears. She said there are 3 options - decongestants which I can't take due to my blood pressure and tachycardia(and the meds I take for them) - steroid nasal spray along with a one week pack of steroid pills(not too keen on that idea!) or, just wait it out and see if it clears up on it's own. I told her I'd wait it out. She said if it doesn't clear up within 2 weeks she'll send me to an ENT doc.
It's just so annoying especially in the morning when it's really quiet and when I try to fall asleep at night. I listen to my ipod a lot during the day to block out the noise which my doc said is ok if it's set at 50% volume or less.
Has anyone ever had this and if so how did you get rid of it other than decongestants or steroids? The decongestants are not an option at all but I suppose if it came down to it I'd give the steroids a try if it's only a week. What are the side effects of using steroids for a week?
Thanks,
Tori
