Hey, im not sure if this is an issue at all, but it bothers me!

Anyways, i have these weird hairs...when I run my fingers down a normal strand of my hair, it is completely smooth...these weird hairs though have a lot of texture to them, and if i pull em out and look at them, they look all crunched up and just weird...thicker in some spots, thinner in others...

Could this be an indication of some sort of deficiency or what not??

They are mainly found on the top/back of my head where my hair swirls together....they are all over the place though. My hair normally is really straight...the hair stylists cant even curl it if they want to, lol...so its not like its a natural wave or something...

oh, and im a caucasian female.

thanks!

Not a hair expert here but it sounds like these hairs are possibly more coarse and textured than others. Not all the hairs on our heads are the same. I have chunks that want to curl and others are flat as fritters or frizz! I wouldn't worry about it. See what your beautician says.

My Long Hair Had Been Straight Medium/normal Texture With No Problems. Then After Having It Short For 6 Years I Grew It Long Again Which Was Fine Untill Last May My Hair Began To Do The Same At The Very Top At Back, Having Just Grown It For 2 Years I Couldnt Believe And Wondered What On Earth I Could Have Done To It. The Problem Only Got Worse And I Also Noticed Some Of Mt Hair Becoming Fine And Breaking Easily And Also Changes In The Normal Colour (some Strands Becoming Lighter In Parts) I Asked My Hairdresser What I Had Done And She Couldnt Tell Me But Said That Sometimes When Hormone Changes Happen This Sort Of Thing Can Occur. It Has Gradually Got Worse And As I Was V Aware Of It And I Was Worrying Myself Silly That It Looked Awful. Last November I Had It All Cut Off . I Have Even Asked My Gp If This Is A Symptom Of Anything And Was Told No These Things Can Happe To Women In Their 30's . It Is Now Feb And It Hasnt Gor Any Better But Isnt Any Worse . I Know This Is Any Comfort To U But I Thought I Would Share This The Hope U May Feel Better That U R Not Alone.

I am a Korean american female and I am SO relieved that I'm not the only one going through this! I'm freaking out... I'm so paranoid about it that I actually spend some time before bed to look for them and pull them out! I very "asian" hair- long, smooth, black, straight. And to have these weird crunchy, strange-textured hairs are driving me nuts and I'm afraid I'm going to get more! What is this? Hormones?

Yeah I have the odd hair like this on my head. I think it is called a 'rogue' hair, sort of wirely and course.

I normally pull them out, as they tend to stand out.
