My bs level today at dr was 229. a1c level 10.9 found sugar in urine along with keytones and blood . I need help. 3 shots a day 10 lantus 15 u novalog 70/30 and 5 more units at night levels wont come down I Need HELP!!! also have high blood pressure, cholesterol and history of chest pains controlled with micardis and nitro

Have you talked with your Dr. about using a rapid acting insulin instead of the split that you are currently taking? Good luck to you!

I think it's pretty obvious that you need a different insulin regimen. The Lantus may need to be upped, and it's possible it may need to be split into two doses...for some people, it doesn't last the full 24 hours and works better if half given at night and half in the AM.
Also, CityCotton's suggestion of using a rapid acting insulin instead of a mix is a good one. You might need to learn how to count carbs, but you would be able to fine-tune things much better. With a rapid acting insulin such as Humalog or Novolog, you estimate the numbers of grams of carbs you'll be eating, and take a precise amount of insulin to cover the carbs. It gives much better control, as well as greater flexibility in when and what you can eat.
Are you being treated by an endocrinologist for the diabetes? If not, you may want to consult with one.
