My question is whether there is a such a thing as having abnormal blood sugar levels but not necessarily diabetes. I am wondering because I have read up on all of the symptoms of diabetes and I have some of them, but others don't really add up.

I urinate frequently. This is all of the time.

I get very irratable and have mood swings. I also get quite tired and groggy a lot, even when I have had enough sleep (and not having too much sleep either) I find it quite hard to concentrate. This is all of the time, normally.

Lately I have been on a bit of a diet and have really cut down on sugar. The diet is supposed to be 1200 calories a day but has ended up being about 1500! Anyway, I have been waking up in the middle of the night absolutley STARVING hungry. I was so hungry the other night that I rumaged in my housemate's cupboard and found some chocolates and ate loads of them. They tasted so good!! The next mornign I just could not get out of bed and felt really groggy all day.

I just wondered, are these just normal symptoms of cutting down on sugar? Or is the fact that Im not eating a lot of sugar (or food for that matter) bringing to light syptoms of diabetes? I am normally a big eater and I do binge eat. If I make a pot of soup, I will eat the whole thing.

I haven't had any unexplained weight loss, or blurred vision. I wouldnt say i have particularly increased thirst.

Thanks for your help

It's hard to say what it is without knowing actual blood sugar numbers.

Do you know someone with a glucometer who could spot check it for you just to find out what your blood sugar is?

This is one Prime Factor many Doctors, never cared to explore & Just your Blood Sugur when Shows High, They Simply Pronounce you A Diabetic. So Better go for Detailed Check Up. Try Thiroid Check up too. Check your Medicines & See if any of Them is giving you the BS high or See the High BS is just Temporary Phenominon. Pls. See a right Doctor for Guidance & Check up.
