Hi,
My beautiful baby boy was running along about two weeks ago when he banged his elbow quite hard on the stair-gate. He was really distressed at the time and but could use his hand and stopped crying after about 10mins so we thought he must have just bruised it. He has complained if you have to bend it or straighten it too far since then but he does use the arm and hand. Yesterday he bumped it again yesterday and was almost inconsoleable for a while. He's holding his arm up again now and is very reluctant to use it.

Should I take him to the A&E department or have I left it too long. I don't want to waste anybody's time, but he is still suffering and I'm worried it's something serious now and it will heal wrongly or something.

Any advice would be good.
Thanks.

Chickie,

Take your baby boy for medical attention. It is obvious he has more than just a little bruise. He needs medical attention.

Never feel like you are wasting someone's time when it comes to your children and their injuries. I would rather bother medical personnel a dozen times rather than take a chance my child had a serious injury that might be crippling or possible death.

As soon as you realize a child is not using a limb or other, then it is time to get help. They are too young to tell us they have a serious injury. We must be observant and make sure they are medically taken care of at the time of injury.

No, it is not too late for medical attention, please take your child as soon as possible for medical care.
