I am on a variety of meds for my bipolar:
Risperdal
Abilify
Lithium
Depakote
Paxil
and Cogentin for the shakes.
I recently had an increase in Lithium and Risperdal and today I developed an unusual migraine. Later I realized I had a fever and I am shaking so bad the muscles in my throat are contracting making it hard to eat and drink. This has happned before, but this is very bad. What should I do. I am at school and the nurse who prescribes my meds is not here everyday and is not available after hours. I don't know if this is ER worthy. Or even if it is a problem with the meds or a virus as I do live in a dorm and viruses are not uncommon. Please help.

Leave a voice mail with the nurse and since the contractions are in your throat if they are severe enough it might be in the best interest to visit the ER. A reaction to one of the dosage increases could be a possibility. Make sure someone drives you there. Bring all of your meds with you as well.

Hang in there.
