I get neck stiffness and my neck makes noises when I move it around and I was wondering If this is associated with TMJ? Because I do have TMJ and my neck just started creaking not to long ago. Anyone else get this? Could the two be related?

They usually are related due to the fact that the head is balanced on the neck (upper cervical spine) and part of the balancing has to due with the position of the lower jaw. Most times the creaking is related to the C1 (atlas) and C2 (axis) vertebrae being slightly out of alignment. This can also cause pain in the back, shoulder or arm and even facial tingling and ear ringing. You may want to find a good chiro to treat it or ask your tmj dr to evaluate your bite and position of the lower jaw.

Okay, thank you that makes sense. I also get facial twitches, what causes that?

The twitching is sometimes due to compression of facial nerves that connect to the upper cervical spine - so neck misalignment may cause it or it can be due to muscle spasms or inflamation constricting a facial nerve. Its a usually a sign of nerve signaling interference, nerve mis-firings (over-reaction) of a "stressed" nerve or that the muscles in the area are being over worked and compressing a nerve.
