I got my first injection of insulin (Humalog Mix 50/50) tonight.
I checked my BG and it was 360, gave myself the injection and ate supper 15 minutes later. One hour later, BG was 298. An hour after that, it was 237, another hour later it was 188 and another hour later (last check), it was 168.
No, I'm not going to keep checking it like that. It would get too expensive and I don't want to be a human pincushion.:dizzy: I just wanted to keep an eye on it to make sure it didn't get to low since I didn't know how I would react with it the first time and I was curious to see if it was coming down.
I admit I don't feel well because of it. But this is the first time my BG has been below the mid 250's (lately 300 - almost 500), so I know my body is just not used to it being in the 100s.
It just feels good to see that after taking all the oral meds and sticking to my diet and none of that working, that finally something IS working!
