I have a little problem when i am doing deadlifts sometimes. I do 5 sets of 5 reps with a warmup set, increasing weight each set. On my later, heavier sets( I say heavy meaning heavy for me 180-210 pounds) a lot of the times when i am done with the set I get really light-headed and feel like i am going to feint. Somebody told me it might be breathing -- holding my breath too long at the bottom of the lift. So i tried really concentrating on my breathing, inhaling on way down exhaling on way up, didnt seem to help that much. Anyone have any answers as to what might cause this? Is this normal on deadlift sometimes?
Thanks, Adrian

Yes, part of your problem could be holding your breath. Some powerlifters are able to take huge deep breaths and then attempt a heavy lift without any adverse affects. Most of us can't do this. Another suggestion: when you perform the deadlifts, keep your head up. In other words, if you can watch yourself perform the deadlift in a mirror, you should be able to see yourself at all times. This helps your equilibrium. Try that...
