Any one else ever get paranoia that you husband or wife is poisoning you? I know thta he probably isn't, but I just get paranopid about it because he has been volunteering to cook alot here lately. He cooks it all together, he doesn't fix me a seperate plate or anything and him and the kids eat out of the same food so why am i getting these intrusive thoghts???? I keep thinking that maybe he is poisoning me and that is why I keep getting all of these symptoms instead of it being my anxiety!! Why do I think like this??? Please help!!!

simple right to the point answer... because you are anxious and it can really mess with the way you think.. (i have been there myself)..

ill let someone else with better typing skills give you the long drawn out answer with better info:) but for now just know you are not alone at all in having thoughts like that.. and you are NOT going crazy..

Crazzzzy, reason it out. Why would your husband poison you? You said yourself that he eats the same food that he serves you. Doesn't make much sense too, huh? When those thoughts invade your mind try to use logic and reason. I know it's hard too because the fear is real and its hard to break that type of thinking once it starts but you have to try because most of the time those thoughts are just unreasonable and If you allow yourself to rationalize things out, you will see how "out there" those fearful thoughts really are. Don't let them control you, take back the control and you will feel a lot better. :)

crazzzzy,
i do not suffer from these types of thoughts, but i do suffer from ocd and i think that maybe you should visit that board, there are many people over there from the posts that i have read that suffer from the same thoughts that you speak about. Maybe that can give you some insight as well as comfort knowing that there are people who have the EXACT same thoughts that you have

I agree. That sounds like Pure O if I ever heard it. I also have OCD and frequent the OCD board. I would ask your qeustion there. I think you will get a good answer or two.

TV shows are probably the origin of your fear. Now you are just obsessing on it. I have had thing I see on TV haunt me for extended periods of time.
