So, is everyone taking their prenatal vitamins? While I was pg with dd, I took prescription prenatals....now I am taking otc ones, don't care for them, though.. Anyone taking a prescription prenatal..any suggestions for a good, affordable otc brand?

It's very ironic that you posted this thread..... The reason I came on here this morning was to see what everyone was saying about prenatal vitamins! Contrary to what you are saying, I am taking prescribed vitamins, and I do not like them. They make me feel really yucky. I think I'm getting too much of something that is in them. I was going to go get some OTC stuff this afternoon. What don't you like about the OTC ones you are taking?

I am taking PrimaCare ONE (prescription) and because the co-pay is a bit high for a month's supply - $35 with my insurance - I asked my OB if there was anything comparable that was OTC or another less expensive prescription and she said that it really was the best because it's so complete and it includes the omega-3 fatty acids and all. It is a large pill, but it doesn't taste too bad going down and it doesn't make me sick. I take it at night around 8pm - I read somewhere that taking it first thing in the morning tends to upset stomachs, so I recommend this one.

Hi There! I just wanted to add my two cents! I just started taking a RX prenatal vit and its called Duet DHA. Its two pills one is a gelcap. Its by StuartNatal. It has the omega-3 fatty acids in it. They seem to be really good- I haven't experienced any problems with them so far. They cost me $10for a month for my co-pay. Anyone else taking these?

Hello Ladies,

I'm taking Nutranate which is a chewable prenatal. I'm not a good pill swallower so my doctor prescribed me this one.

The co-pay for me is $7.50 per month.

Hey!

Thanks for your responses, ladies! I am taking the "Just 1 Once" natural supplement (otc). IT is huge and I don't like the taste or smell of it. I like the idea of the chewable pill Nutranate..I should look into that :)

Thanks!

How do the Nutranates taste? I'm not a fan of swallowing pills either. I go to Dr on the 26th and I want to ask for a prescription for a chewable. Thanks.

**REMOVED**

They didn’t bear any real results for me, so I wouldn’t recommend them myself but then again I am one of those people where only certain vitamins will have any notable effect. There is a smaller version of Nutranates that I have taken before, they weren’t too bad.

I am taking OTC One Source, I have to take 2 of them everyday but they aren't huge so I don't mind. It seems to have everything recommended and it was a reasonable price.
