I'm am planning on entering a state wide "mini-olympics" in late July (it's early January right now) and I want to run the 100m and 200meter sprints.

Do you have any suggetions on how I should train for this? I am slightly underweight.

Thanks!

first thing of course is make sure you are getting all your daily requirements to be healthy.
when i used to sprint we did a lot of interval running. we'd start by running 1 mile a a warmup and then run 1/4 mile at a easy jog and then sprint the next 1/4 mile repeated many times. :) not sure what kind of shape your in for running, but stairs, squats are also helpful in preparing for sprints. Be sure you have a good calf workout too so you don't get shin splints.
practice your sprints as well being sure to walk a lap or two and then go again.
good luck
