First, I want to thank those who reponded to my first thread. It truly helps to know that their are people who understand what I am talking about.
I am scheduled to have an EMG to see if the 3 ESI's were put in the correct locations. Since I had surgery at L4/L5 the dr that gave me the shots couldn't put it right there due to the scar tissue. So, I had on at the left of L4, one at the right of L5, and a transforaminal (sp?) at the L5 level..none that worked. So, I guess my question is , my physiatrist suggested having and EMG to see if the other doctor was placing the shots in the right areas. Has anyone had an EMG for that particular reason? I know from what I have read on here and on other sites the EMG is used to determine the damage caused to the nerves and the location. Why didn't they do this from the beginning since I had a prior surgery and knowing that my most recent MRI showed protrusion of disc material that abuts the L5 nerve root, since surgery leaves scarring in the first place?
