I had my surgery 3 years ago and still suffer from lower back pain and Sciatica but nothing really shows up on CTI or MRI scans other than scar tissue.Am I person that is unusual after Surgery? Anyone else out there???
People must think I am such a baby but the pain is real.I have trouble during the day going to work and driving and worse at night trying to sleep which my Dr has given me pills to aleviate the night time pain now.

Hi,
I just read your post about your micro-d and continuing pain. Oh my, I also had a micro-d this past Nov 06. I had a sequestered very large lateral piece under L4 nerve root. This caused severe progressive leg weakening. I could barely walk. My left butt cheek is still smaller than my right and my jeans don't fit right. I also now have a mild scoliosis in the throracic area, which is the result of severe muscle spasms. My p.t. is helping me resolve this.
I believe your pain is VERY real. My neuro surgeon told me I shouldn't be in so much pain anymore - hah. I should just tough it out. Anyway after numerous calls to his office, he told me it is possible that something went wrong - or something was missed - rats. So I am to do another MRI on Feb. 22nd.
I do feel better these last couple of days (touch wood ). I don't know if it is this mineral rub - or perhaps the pain is finally working its way out. The night time is bad for me also. The pain wakes you up. Then your body gets into this pattern, and when the pain is not that bad, you wake up anyway - as your sleep pattern has been so disruptive over months and months.
I hope you find improvement. Take good care.
God bless
Kay
