I had my gall bladder out 3 months ago and had diarrhea each morning. I have now started taking questran and it is amazing, no more diarrhea.
However, I know that my body must be depleted in certain minerals and vitamins. I am easily tired-out and I just don't have the stamina I used to have.
I would like to take a supplement to boost my body and energy levels. But at the same time I do not want anything that is a stimulant - I am trying to calm my digestion and bowels!
I am quite nervous about taking anything incase it upsets my stomach.
Any ideas?

I am also on questran for same reason and you must take a supplement. I've tried many, most upset my stomach as well.
I've been taking Nature's Source of Life with success. They have everything but the kitchen sink in them but they don't upset my stomach. You do have to take 3 a day which I hate but they seem to be good vitamins. The only problem is they do not have a lot of vitamin Bs (which we need for energy and for cooridnating the movement of GI tract) so I supplement my supplements with extra Bs. Be sure to take on a full stomach but separate from the questran. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply.
What do you take to get the vitamin B's?
Have you had bloating with the Questran at all? When do you take it?
I have been taking it after dinner becasue I seemed to only have diarrhea in the mornings.
I have been feeling a little light headed and woozey each morning - I'm convinced it has something to do with that when I have my BM. Once that's over I seem to come right. Have you had anything like this? I'm going to try to take an iron supplement to see if it's my iron levels.
Thanks

auxano,
I think you should have your blood checked before you take an iron supplement.
Tell your Doctor your symptoms and he/she would know what blood to run. Then discuss what you need to take--
Also-- Iron in some forms can cause constipation but I am sure with the diarrhea that you have had in the past -- you probably need some vitamin and mineral supplements.
Diarrhea does tend to wash nutrients away.
