Is anyone taking Limbrel for pain but not for OA? I've got back pain due to disc problems but not arthritis and I wondered if Limbrel might hellp me because I have inflammation that causes pain. I can't take NSAIDS. I'm searching out other alternatives.

I've tried Limbrel but only samples & there was only about 10 days worth in the sample box. It didn't seem to do anything for me, though from what I've read in the studies, it usually takes a couple weeks for people to notice a difference. There is someone on these boards, can't remember their name, that has tried it and said it's working for them, but i think they take it for OA.
After reading up on it and reading the Limbrel maker's leaflet on it, it's a bit confusing to me exactly what it's supposed to do. I am not sure if it's supposed to clear inflammation like anti-inflammatory drugs or if it kills pain, or both. It's not really a medication, though...it's classified as a medical food to meet the nutrional needs of people with OA. It seems there may be some metabolic process in people with OA where their body breaks down cartilage quicker or makes them more susceptible to it and Limbrel, I think, is supposed to help control this. Ahh, well I just read something else I didnt know about this pill.....one is not supposed to take any other anti-inflammatories while taking this or it's effect is lost. Perhaps this could be why I didnt notice anything. But anyway, I know there are a few people around these boards that tried it & think it helps them...so maybe they will read this and reply.
