Any diet that limits your food choices is not a good diet. You need a well-balanced diet with plenty of protein (lacking in granola bars & most cereals), low-fat or fat free dairy, mostly whole grains, and plenty of fruits and veggies. It is not smart to eat only one food group, especially when that group is only carbs. Now, I'm not totally down on carbs like some people, but you need to focus on eating good carbs--like fruits and whole grains. It's much better for your body. Such a diet would probably lead your body to become deficient in protein and many vitamins & minerals, likely triggering binge-eating. I don't think it's a good idea.

Grains don't even come close as the nutrient power of fruits and vegetables. Besides vitamins and minerals the plants have phytonutrients that protect from cancers and anti aging abilities. Also grains have pytic acid which can chelate important minerals like calcium and magnesium out of the body. So try to get those vegetables and fruits in the diet....
