I am started Yasmin next week and I am excited... I hope it works. I am nervous because I wonder if it will make my face worse for a while after I start it (I'm not sure that is possible since my face is sooo bad right now). Did any of you experience that or did it clear up right away? Any other negative effects? I'm nervous but I'm going to go ahead with it and give it at least a couple of cycles. Wish me luck!

Hey. I had an initial breakout in the first month. It was not too severe. It cleared up by the end of the month, and in the 3rd month I'm doing much better. Good luck! :round:

Dear Denvergal,
Yasmin cleared my skin straight up, within the first few weeks I took it. Not sayin' that I have NO zits, just less, and it gets better with each day that goes by. I highly recommend it for any woman looking for a BCP for her acne. Good luck!

I don't want to scare you or anything but I had a bad initial breakout on Yasmin. It took weeks to heal. But I am on my 5th pack now, ready to go on my 6th and my face is looking really good. I only use 2-3 products on my face (cleanser, moisturizer, and Copper Peptide Serum) and take Yasmin. I am a MUCH happier person now and I feel like my normal self again. If it were not for the red marks left behind, which are slowly fading, my face would be almost completely clear. Hang in there...it will work in time. Good luck ;)

I too am starting Yasmin next week (actually tomorrow)! I am SO excited! I am taking it for hair loss primaraly but also REALLY hoping it will clear my mild/moderate (but always persistant) acne. I also have very oily skin and hair and am hoping it might get a little better.
Please post how you are doing on it in the weeks to come. I pray success for both of us! :)

I have been on every acne medication you can think of including accutane. I started using Ortho-Tricyclen with me regime but I continued to have massive breakouts on my cheeks and forehead a week before my period. My gyno then suggested Yasmin since it was Monophasil instead of Triphasil. I've been on Yasmin for two weeks and have already noticed that my skin is drier and has a healthier complexion. My shedding has also reduced from an average of 100+ hairs to 60 hairs. I'm really happy with Yasmin (so far)! Good Luck!

I can totally relate. Even though I'm about 95% clear, the red marks still show. Then again, I'd rather have red marks that I can easily dab foundation over, than red, pus-filled pimples. Don't worry though, with time the red marks will fade. Hang in there! :>

hi i've been on yasmin for a month now ( i start my second pack on friday ) the first two weeks i was on it i was 100% clear even my red mark were unnoticable after being on retin a micro for a year. it was great! and then i read a post about putting raw potatoe juice on your face....and i did it. im not sure it was from the potatoe (hoping it was ) but i broke out really bad all over my face in places i never did b4, like my forehead and hair line, on the third week. as soon as i started the white pills ,last friday, my face started to clear up. at this point, with 3 white pills left, i have 1 zit on my cheekbone and 1 on my chin ... they are completely dead and dried out so now im just waiting for them to fall off on their own. i am happy with yasmin. my face is less oily. i have not been depressed ( i was on ortho tri cyclen), and i have not gained or lost an ounce. im looking forward to next month, to see how it goes!
