Last June I walked into the corner of the foot rest on our recliner that my husband was sitting in. It burned real bad and started turning black and blue immediately. I put it up in the air and iced it down and went to the doctor that day. They said I bruised it real bad and there was a lump under it. The bruising got worse, which the doctor said it would. Now, 8 months later, I still have discolored skin in that area and it feels like a dent in the bone. I've been back to the doctor and she said I would probably always have this dent and discoloration. Occassionaly, when I sitting in the recliner during the evening it kind of aches and is sore. I have had 2 different doctors look at it and neither seem concerned over it. They both have said I must have hit it real hard, which I did. (It happened in a dark room). Should I be concerned or let it go? With summer coming on, I'm going to be self conscience of it when I have capri's or shorts on.

I have something similar left over from a car accident in January 2004. We actually caught it on MRI when I was having my knee examined. The Ortho surgeon said it looked like a bruise, and I said it felt like one. I barely notice it any more.
