So my next cycle, I will be temping. I purchased my thermometer and I signed up for a 60 day free trial of an online fertility planner. How does everyone chart their signs and temps? By hand or software?
The opk really confused me, so I don't think I will use those again for a bit. That is too much going on. I want to get good at the temping and charting first. Besides, like I posted earlier, I tested using the opk on cd 18 & 19. The results were VERY dark lines. The subsequent days were lighter and lighter, today (2/12) the line was pretty much non-existent. So, did I ovulate on cd 18 or 19? Was I about to? don't get it. I probably blew it if I was going to ovulate a day or so of it because DH and I bd on cd 18 & 19--- But did not do it after that (cd 20, 21 etc....)
UGGGgg, I think I make things toooo complicated.
Anyway, have a good night! unless you are in europe right now..good morning then!

I also started temping this month. I set my alarm on my cell to go off at 7 each morning. This is coming from a person who used to not get up until 10 :) I use the same site as Amy. It's free, but you can purchase 'extras'. I just use the charting and I like it.
For you ladies temping out there, what is an average waking temp for you? I'm usually 97.4-97.7

Hey ladies,
So, Amy you check the cervical fluid every morning as well as the position of the cervix? You do this after you take your temp? This is all done once a day right?
Ok, I am getting lots of information from everyone, this is great. I will be ready to start. I 'm kinda looking forward to it (of course, a bfp this month would even be better, but I think I will be past that soon!)
Yes, the snow is a lovely thing as long as you don't have to drive anywhere.. those of you in upstate New York--yikes, I feel for ya!

Good luck with the BBT! Both times I got serious and did it right I got preg w/in two clyles. You can/should check you CM throughout the day, but I think with CP you should check it at the same time everyday. Remember your temp goes up AFTER you O, so you need to check for other fertility signs. I realized after 2 months I couldn't predict what day I O, but I knew when I would get AF. One month I O'd later than I expected and the next it was ealier. But I checked my CM and bd anyway although I though it would be too early and it worked. You'll know how long your luteal phase is (from O to AF) so you'll know when you see high temps beyond that time you are probably going to get a BFP.
You can use the OPK along with BBT. The OPK will tell you when your gearing up to O, and the BBT will tell you when you did. I'll admit OPK are tricky becuase light lines are neg. and you have to start testing several days before you O in order to catch it if you're early. But then if your late, you might give up after a few days...but I found some online that were less than a dollar so I thought I give it a try. Now I have a whole bunch in my drawer. Checking your CM and CP is free!

Rach Normally i check cervix position in the evening after i shower ideally you also get this done at the same time each day. Closed, firm and low indictes your non fertile days wheras open soft and high indicates your fertile days.
Re mucous you should record this at the end of the day as dry, sticky, creamy, watery and raw egg white the latter being the most fertile. If in doubt always record what you think is most fertile.
the only problem that i forsee is that i am trying to everything so accurately, recording all fertility signs ,eating healthily, trying not to get stressed, not drinking alcohol, etc etc that if i get a except try and wait.
oh i live on a small island in the mediterranean sea so its just sun here . very mild winters if any at all.
good luck

Rach By the way don t give up until af arrives last time i was pregnant i did about 15 tests before i got my BFP. For some of us it may be just too early to test.
In fact my dr told me not to rely on HPT since they may not work very well with me. I only found out i was pregnant after doing a blood test and by that time i was more than 6 weeks prego. So good luck.

Thanks for the info ladies..Tigrilla, you are pregnant, right? the opk you used-were they the kind you dip in urine or pee on? That probably doesn't matter so much does it?
Amy, thanks for the support..it's not over til af shows, that's for sure.
Also, have you lived there are your life? Sounds absolutely beautiful. I love the sea. DH and I went to Hawaii a few years back--that was the closest I've been to an island...

Hi rach
I used OPK last month . . . the ones you pee on. .. . however if i were you i wouldn t just rely on them. Especially since they give a positive result only 12-36 hrs prior to ovulation
Any news ? Did you get AF yet? Or did you do another HPT?
I am on CD 12 and should ovulate soon then i am sure it will be a long 2WW.
Happy St valentines to all hope this day will bring about a Few BFP for us.
