My father has a high level of creatinine on every of his blood tests for the past two years. The doctors do not understand why as he does not seem to have any symptoms of kidney disfunctioning. He drinks + urinates normally and the echodopplers of the renal arteries reveal only very slight thining. However he now also has full bags under his eyes and occasionally ankle swallen (+ more rarely hands), wich he never used to and are not related to any sleep disorder or leg position..
Could he be hiding something serious that is not being diagnosed at this stage yet? I am very worried as he is getting old and fear his kidneys may not operate perfectly- he already got intoxicated due to other medication overdose (doctors errors) and its a miracle he survived - but is obviously in much weaker condition and i do not trust the doctors anymore!
Thank you for any of your helpfull advice.

Has he been seen by a nephrologist (kidney specialist). It seems really stupid of his docs to say that he has no symptoms of kidney disease when his creatinine is up. That is a symptom of kidney disease. Has he had a biopsy? That would show if he has something like Iga nephropathy or some other disorder. Does he have high blood pressure? That could cause it too, as could diabetes and over use of ibuprofen. He really should see a specialist. Family doctors are notoriously bad at dealing with kidney issues.
