Hello everybody
I have just recvd an appointment for my first diabetic eye exam. next week,
and was told on the phone that I can't drive afterwards. I know I should have asked at the time, but can anyone tell me why not, and what do they do during the test?

Thanks, Mandy

They dilate your eyes so that everything will be quite blurry for several hours afterwards. It is not a good idea to drive because it is difficult to judge distances and you may have problems at lights and stop signs.

Make sure you bring sun glasses too. If it is sunny out and bright, you will have a tough time seeing even with the glasses. If I've had a lot of drops, sometimes I just keep my eyes shut the whole way home.
