OK, I have been pretty good through bearing the news of being infertile or VERY UNLIKELY (less then 10% chance and not a candidate for IVF) to conceive. I even grin and bear it and relish in the good news of friends with blessed news but this no proposed law that People how don't have kids after three years should be forced to divorce. I know this legislation is proposed to pin point the irony of same sex marriage but until this nothing has really just hurt to the heart as this new proposal. I don't want I needed to get it off my chest as to how much it hurt and to share that with people who understand. My co-workers are all talking about it and some agree with the proposal - and yes they have THEIR OWN KIDS but have no idea what hubby and I have been struggling with for 5 years. Hubby is my soul mate and I don't want to divorce him just because we can't have kids! At least we tried! Thanks for listening.

I may have been living in my own IF world for a while but I am not familiar with this legisilation. Can you please explain to me a bit further. Do you mean to tell me that people can get divorced if they are not able to concieve after 3 years. Please tell me that is not true!!!! Has this passed???? Is is state to state??? This just makes me feel like crap I can not believe such a thing could be passed!!!

Actually it is a little worse then that - it is saying that is a couple does not have kids with in 3 years they HAVE to get divorced or have the union annulled. It is on cnn.com yesterday and the local news channels. It is outrageous!

Whoa.....how is this possible? Surely this is not going to be made a law there is no way. How can they...I'm sure that they won't have enough votes to pass this but that just makes me sick to think they would consider it. I just got married Christmas Eve to the love of my life and to think we could have to get a divorce in 3 years is unthinkable. People have to be crazy just to even say that out loud.

I will have to read that it just does not seem convieable to me.. in THIS country you would have to get divorced or anulled for that. I just can't imagine it. When I have some time I will do the research. thanks

I don't want to believe it either. I did see the article on CNN but I could not open it to get more information. I am curious to know what it says....

That is crazy, I went right to CNN and tried to open it but I could not. I am going to have to look more into this. If anyone hears anything else let us know

i have to check this out for myself, i cant believe this.. NOONE can make you get divorced or have children.. i live in nj, and ive heard nothing about this.. and for some people who have all intentions to have kids they cant afford them right away and wait a few years, and what about IF.. im telling you this cant be true, or correct.. what about people who have already been married 20 yrs and never had kids, they have to get divorced?? i dont think so.. i am going to read up on this!!!

This has to be some kind of joke...we are not living in under communism here, that could never happen, it is ludicrous
