Anyone out here that has been off of chantix for a while? I've been off for about two months and wondered how it goes for others off of it.

Hi Chanty
Congratulations! I am not off Chantix but i'm wondering how it is for you?

All is well. Still have craves once in a while, but more of a passing thought. I've gained some weight even with working out, so trying to rev up my metabolism again. When I went off Chantix, I "weaned myself" off just reverse of the beginning starter pack and it seemed to help.

Hi Beth,:)
I'm not that much ahead of you. Today I have been smokefree for 6 months. I'm not having any problems. I have no desire to smoke. Don't ask me how I know it, but I just know that I will never smoke again. I also know that I can never take even one puff of a cigarette. If I do I'll be back smoking a pack or more a day. I put on some weight AFTER I got off the Chantix. But I really think that was just Thanksgiving and Christmas weight gain. I've been dieting and exercising and have lost the 15 pounds I put on. Now I'm working on the other 50 pounds that I need to lose. UGH!
Life is good for me!!

Memaw - Oooh, I can relate to all of that. I also know that I can never ever have one puff and that's that. I too gained weight and hope it was holidays, but I've been working out every day and it's just not budging as much as I had hoped. Any secrets would be appreciated!! :) Beth

Hey Beth,
Dieting secrets: salad, salad, chicken, salad, chicken, green beans, spinach, turnip greens, salad, cabbage, chicken, salad, salad.
All kidding aside....I decided to go on a diabetic diet. Low carbs, no sugar, lots of veggies. And exercise. I exercise 1 hour a day. I've got a air walker I get on in the morning and in the evening. I'll be glad when it warms up some so I can walk outside. I only weigh once a week. That way I won't be disappointed if I didn't lose any weight the day before. Or I won't be tempted to eat a little more because I lost over 1 pound the day before.
Sensible eating and exercise. That's it.
