I know I'm fat, I'm working on it - trying to tackled the Medifast plan. Don't have any insurance so a friendly visit to my Doctor to get a prescription is not even dreamed of. So I am in need of natural ways to get these numbers down.
I'm not a big fried food eater, maybe fish sticks twice a month. Don't do burgers or drink coke/pepsi related products, not even diet. Don't smoke/drink alcohol or do drugs. I average about a gallon of water a day, sometimes a glass of tea (but rarely), usually have a medifast shake 3 times a day, sometimes less, a protien bar or two, and a meal that has protien and veggies in it. And yeah, sometimes I swing my McDonalds and have a grilled snack wrap - better than a cheeseburger. And sometimes I'll eat a slice of cake at my grandmothers - I don't eat like I used to, trying my best to improve. But no one is perfect.
I'm thinking about taking Fish Oil Capsules, does anyone know if this will help lower the numbers?
Advice please

sw3006, there are so many supplements out there, and some that seem to work for one person seem to be useless for another. I'm still trying to find what works for me. My neice brought her cholesterol from over 300 to 190 in two months on red yeast rice. She also takes CoQ10 because supposedly the rice depletes that. I'm trying flushfree niacin now(1500 mg. daily.) Have a drs appt coming up soon to see if it has worked. I've read that something called guggul is supposed to be very effective, but I really haven't researched it. Just google it. You'll come up with plenty of info about what works and what doesn't. And good luck with the dieting. Everytime I've ever tried to lose weight, all I thought about was food.

Your triglycerides are pretty high. I'd recommend cutting back on sugar and starches to knock about 200 points off that number and you would be close to a normal cholesterol. You would also lose weight. Reduce your carb intake by cutting way back on bread, cereals, potatoes, rice, pasta, cakes, cookies etc.
