I had my daughter about 5 weeks ago. My practicioner told me to wait 5-6 weeks to have sex again. I always thought it was just 6 weeks? Because that was the postpartum period. Anyways...today is as you know valentines day and I really want to er spend some time with my boyfriend. Do you think it would be ok?

you should be fine IMHO. I know people who have only waited two or three weeks, myself included. I think it depends on how you feel "down there" specifically, if you are healed up and aren't bleeding like you did when you first had your baby.
I would say go for it, but be slow and very carefull.

Well, not to be graphic....but go slow, and make sure you use lubrication for the first time, just in case, so you don't tear anything-plus, be sure to watch certain positions. You body changes a lot after having a baby, so certain ones may hurt (this should go away eventually....sometimes it take six months for your body to go back to normal there)
Good luck
