is it that if you lose alot of weight and stop ovulating, then regain weight and start ovulating again, they say weight loss can cause permanent infertility? surely if you put weight back on and your periods return that you should be ok? why is the infertility due to weight loss irreversable?
does anyone no

i never heard that it is irreverisble.. i guess if yu have an eating disorder you can do a lot of damage to your insides, and maybe if its so bad and you damage some reproductive organs i can see them saying that cant be changed.. but if you lose weight then put it back on, i cant see that being a permamnat problem, i dont know to much about this tho, so maybe someone else can answer :)

There are some studies to show that about one in five women will remain infertile even after recovering from an eating disorder and returning to a normal healthy weight. Some researchers theorize that there has been some permanent damage to the feedback loop between hormonal balance and the part of the nervous system that monitors the body's nutritional status.
