Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I posted last. We have started our first round of IVF and I am on my 6th day of follistim injections. We started with 75 twice a day, but I had bw done on Tuesday and my level was only at 22 when they want it b/w 100 and 200. So they increased my Follistim to 125 two times a day. Well today I went in for an US and my follicles were only at a size 3 and a size 5. Has anyone heard of it taking this long for the follicles to react to meds and is it safe to keep going on or will the follicles get bad. My estimated retrieval date is set for next Wed. and they said obviously we are going to have to push that back a little. Thenurse told me not to get discoursed, but how can you not. so I was wandering if anyone has heard of an IVF cycle having to go longer than the typical 9-12 days? Any help would be so great!

well maybe now that you are on 125 and it grew they can see if they consistently grow now.. i started off with 75 gonal (once a day) for 3 days.. and they didnt grow too much, then i did 75gonal and 150 repronex... then 150 gonal and 75 repronex the next day... (so that is 225iu of meds) then they started to grow!!! then i went on to do 225 of just repronex the rest of the week and then i dropped down to 150 then 75 before my retrieval, so you do have some follies, maybe you just needed a little more meds.. :) good luck and keep us updated, if your dr is giving up hope dont you just give up hope yet :) i'll be thinking about you!!!
