After I had DD I did not bleed very much and it became lighter and seemed to be going away. For about 2 days I didn't bleed and I thought it was over but now I have been having this on going cycle of about 1-2 days no bleeding and then 1 day of bleeding. Is this normal? Or should I call the Dr? The bleeding is red to dark red.

women bleed from an average of 6 weeks to 13 weeks. 13 being the less of the too that most women do. Your cycle can be off for even up to a year after a baby. If you are concerned or uncomfortable please call ob and get a check up again if you havnt already been to 6 week post pardum. If you have and you are on and off bleeding still please call them anyway and check. Keep a log on your calendar of when you bleed what color(dark, bright,) and for how long...there are calendars out there that you can keep track of with, btu if you wnat you can just use your at home calendar. or print one and do that. Did you get pain, if so wihch side. stuff like that. so when you call dr. you can tell him/her about this.
I bled with 1st child 12 years ago for 3 years, it was very rare and there were sucumstances under it and stress was a huge factor so please if you are going through a rough patch with husband or family stop it or fix it becuase your body will create a way to take it out on you. Relax and enjoy your baby as best you can every little moment helps! The calmer you are the better and faster you will heal and get back to normal. Smell your baby, relax with your baby next to you while listening to something soothing. Hey even if it's heavy metal so what!;) Just as long as it is low and you are trying to relax.
Are you nursing if you are and are having problems doing so or are on again off again with it that will surely screw up your bleeding. If you are nursing and arent sure if baby isnt latching or doing good consult your lactation consultant about it.
Again this can be normal but You didnt say how many weeks you were post pardum so i cant give exact. I would recomend you seek dr. first thing monday though! good luck
