DW is on 200mg prometrium vaginally 2X a day (not uncommon, from what I have read) starting 5 days post trigger, 3 days post iui. we are 8 days post IUI today, and the ugly side effects are starting to show. she had a bit of a meltdown this morning getting ready for work.. nothing fit. she is very bloated, emotionally touchy (shall we say), and oddly enough, very gassy. :eek:

Anyone have similar experiences with prometrium? :confused:

one more week in the 2ww. *sigh* if this cycle doesnt work, next cycle may be significantly delayed due to the hormones. :dizzy:

Paulieb I was on prometrium for the first time last month.It did make me a little emotional not crying but I was bloated nothing fit I told DH I had to get on a diet and he though I was nuts.It ends up I was pregnant but it was a chemical pregnancy:( :( .I just hope this is a sign and DW is pregnant.

Paulieb - I've also had to take prometrium after each IUI (this is my 3rd) until test day. And, yes, I suffer the same side effects. It's not the best thing, but she won't mind it if the procedure is successful. My first 2 attempts were unsuccessful and I noticed that as soon as I stopped taking it & AF came, I felt like I dropped 5 pounds. I didn't notice the moods - but my husband did!! lol

Paulieb yes I have those symptoms of being on prometrium. My RE is having me take it for 10 days, i have 2 more days to go. It can't come any faster. I have been very bloated and very emotional. I have also had headaches everyday I've been on it. Hope everything goes well for you.
