I've had them since I was two. A few years ago, I started having grand mals while I slept, but yesterday, had one at work. They called the paramedics and everything. I couldn't believe I was actually in the emergency room, I've only been there once before, my parents took me because I had more than one at a time. I don't know what to do. I hit my head on something from the injury I have there. But this one was much worse. I was dizzy for the rest of the day, I couldn't eat or drink, cause I'd throw everything back up. Nothing like that had ever happened. They even hooked me up to the oxygen in the ambulance. I wonder if I should start wearing some of the medical bracelets.

I just can't understand why they're getting worse.

As for telling employers/co-workers/supers If you are in the US, you **cannot** be fired due to disability. However be warned, I hate being the cynical one, they will think up some excuse at some firms for letting us go.

SO, having said that, IF you trust them, as I did, Tell somebody when to and when NOT TO call for medics. What to do in case of a seizure etc. Search the web and you can find good data and create a one page sheet for "first aid". Include Dr contact #'s, or WHO to contact (you decide the "who" on the sheet).

A wrist band of some sort is a wise idea if people have disabilities, food alergies, etc.

Good luck getting the meds stabalized.

persian...You sound like you are a bit down from that last seizure...but it also sounds like you have been living with the seizures for a long time...since you were 2 years old?! This is only the second time you have ended up in the emergency room so that's good. All of my Tonic Clonic/grand mal seizures have been at night too. I guess I have convinced myself that I won't have them during the day...but it could happen. Did you get back to work right away? How was the reaction there? I hope by know you are feeling better and things are back to normal....whatever normal can be when you have a seizure disorder.

take care,
Lamac

No. I'm not going back until Thurs. that the dr gives me a release form. Although I still don't see what for. I feel just fine. Just as long as I don't hurt anymore.
