so i'm reading some of these posts and i notice that i can relate to some of these problems/symptoms. maybe i'm just being paranoid? here are some of the issues: biting my nails. once i start i just keep going until i can't anymore. i know this sounds gross but i even bite the skin around my nails sometimes. another one is contuoisly checking my emails and the caller id on my phone. i feel like i'm missing out on something or anxious for someone to communicate with. maybe i'm just lonely? another thing is, i know this sounds silly, i have this fear of ghosts. sometimes i think i see things like someone standing there watching me. another strange thing. if i see a digital clock i'll do like a divisional math problem. for example if the clock says 2:40 i'll think 40 divided by 2 equals 20. if i see the time change like 2:41 i'll think 41 divided by 2 equals 20-1/2. this is only when i see digital clocks. i know it sounds strange. but those are some of the thoughts that go through my head sometimes. i must have some kind of obsessive disorder or something of the sort.

Sounds like you have a slightly obsessive personality, but that is fairly common and not a problem. A dissorder has to cause you anxiety and affect your ability to function in your daily life, so if you are just inconvienienced a little by your obsessive habits it is probably not OCD. If you are constantly obsessing to the point where you are having anxiety attacks or it consumes so much of your time that you can't get accomplished things in your daily life that need to be accomplished then you may have OCD. It doesn't sound like you have OCD to me.

Good luck,
OE
