I've had acute bronchitis for 9 days now. Dr. has me on albuterol inhaler, Advair, and Mucinex. I'm not really coughing at all now, however I still have shortness of breath and chest tightness. All chest xrays were normal, except for hyperinflation. How long until these symptoms go away????

It's horrible, I know. This is the second time I had it in three months. Beginning of Nov. I moved from FL. to GA. I got it in FL, went to the Dr. he gave me the z-pack (nothing) I called him again so he gave me another z-pack. I got to GA. and went to the Dr. again, he stopped the z-pack (I still had two left) gave me a breathing treatment, two shots one was (prednisone) the other a strong antibiotic, he kept me on the antibiotic for (of course) 10 days, 9 days on the prednisone. I had it for over two weeks but after I saw him, two or three days I felf great. Now I have it again about three days I went straight to the Dr. A differant one, he did the same thing, so Im hoping I will feel better soon. If you want to know the name of the antibiotic I will let you know. I'm trying to find out ways to prevent this because it is horrible. The Doctor said, wash your hands a lot and practice good hygine. I live with my two grandson's 6 and 2. I have been so sick ever since I moved here, I could write a book. Good luck and PRAY it helps. Yes it did, I only hope that it helps me again. I only had the shot today, tomorrow I will start the pills. The antibiotic is biaxin, I know that it is strong, but I don't care, I just want this to be gone. Did he give you a breathing treatment. I also have an inhaler, I use it to much, but until some of this congestion leaves, it's the only thing that lightens my chest. Let me know what happens. I took the first 2 antibiotics tonight, so hopefully I will feel better in the morning. Carrie
