:D
I have been on anti-depressants for twelve years now. I started on Zoloft, then Paxil and now I take 150 mgs of Effexor. What bothers me about this, besides the fact that it seems to not be working as well since I have been on this dosage for three years now is that when I try to go off of it or miss a dose, I feel like I am going to have a seizure or am having electric shocks in my brain, apparently this is normal.
Does anyone know of a better alternative I can suggest to my doctor?

This is a common side effect of going off of antidepressants. A good doctor will slowly take you off of them while switiching to another or stopping completely. I beleive the medical community is finally recognizing the dangers of withdrawal from antipressants (I have been through what you describe). Try google (serotonin syndrome).
