I've read in various places to take anywhere from 5g to 20g a day how much should I take? and when should I take it? I just bought the stuff and havn't tried it yet.

It will vary. Some people take 5 grams several times a day. Others take it mainly post workout and then before bed. I take 5 grams first thing in the morning. Then I take 10 grams after a workout. Then I take 5-10 grams before bed.
If I feel a cold coming on I take 20 grams every few hours and the cold is gone soon.

thanks for your reply, also, would it be ok to mix creatine and glutamine in the same drink?

I don't think there's any problem combining everything into one big shake. Some people disagree, but I think it's a matter of opinion either way. Try it and see. But for me it has worked either way.
