Ok, so this may be a really dumb question, but I'm trying to figure out which day I count as my O day. I took an ovulation predictor test on Thursday (my CD 14) night at 5:00 p.m. and it was negative. I took another test that same night at 11:00 p.m. and it was positive! I got positive tests all day on Friday (CD 15) and Saturday (CD 16) as well. Then on Sunday I got a negative one. So, which day would I count as my ovulation day? I need to go in for a Progesterone test and 7 days after I ovulate and I am just trying to figure out which day I count.
Thanks!!
Kim
Hi Kim. I am not very sure but I think you would count Saturday, cd16, as actual ovulation day. I think the first day would be your surge and the beginning of the process and then the 16 would be actual ovulation. That is the day that I would count. When you are going in for a prog. level check, you do not want to go in too early. That will make the test inconclusive. I have had this problem before and it will appear that you didn't ovulate at all when the level comes back.
My RE says that ovulation is actually a process with like a 48 hour window. So, I guess that is why you started seeing positives Friday night and then all day Friday and then on Saturday, as well. Then on Sunday, you had completed the process. Good luck to you!! I hope you get your BFP!!!
Are you TTC on your own or did you do an IUI?? How long have you been TTC??

Hi Kim,
I think the OPK's tell you 24 hours prior to ovulating but I am not sure the label may tell you for sure. But to be absolutley sure I would call RE and ask what day they think you should come in. Good luck this cycle!!! :)

Anna Leigh,
I have not been on bc for 4 years and haven't gotten pregnant. I haven't really wanted to have a baby until the past couple months and I went to my dr. who prescribed me Femara. This is my first cycle on it, so, we'll see!! Thanks for your help!
Kim
Hi Kim. How was the Femara this month?? I am thinking that if AF shows up and this first cycle of IUI didn't work, then RE will prescribe Femara for me. I know that is the drug he uses. Did you have any side effects? I get nervous when starting any new drug.
Thanks. Good luck to you!!

Femara was great! I had no bad side effects at all. In fact, the only difference I could tell was that about 2 hours after I took it, I became really ready for bed. It was like a drowsy and drugged feeling, but more of a relaxed feeling. I was definitely pleasantly surprised that I didn't have any negative side effects! Does your insurance cover IUI? If not, what's the average cost of one cycle? I am just thinking in that direction in case the Femara doesn't work by itself.
