what is the recovery time for a kidney transplant? After a full recovery are there any limitations to movement?

Every person is different. I had a really rough time with my transplant and was in the hospital for 3 weeks. After that I just kept getting better and better. I am 4 1/2 years post transplant now and everything is fine. There is no limited mobility. In fact, the sooner you start exercising after the better. All they say is that you may not lift more than 10 pounds for at least 6 weeks. Also, they don't want you to play heavy contact sports after the transplant because the kidney is in the front and not protected.
