Hi,
I had the same thing happen to me, had the colposcopy w/biopsy and cold knife cone procedure. The results of the cone came back that I had adenocarcinoma in-situ. (which is a very early, stage 0 cancer) The cold knife cone procedure seemed to have gotten it all because the margins came back clear, however I have to get checked every 4 months now. I never thought to ask my gyno or rheumy about this, though..if they know of any correlations with this and lupus. I know someone else on this board mentioned something about this also, just cant remember who it was.
I did some researching into it and found some studies that showed a higher rate of cervical cancer in women with lupus.....some thought it could have to do with taking immune suppressing medications, but none show any definitive reasons that I have found. Maybe someone else has more info about it...

I, too, had an abnormal pap this past December -ASCUS (atypical squamous cell unspecified) with inflammation. The HPV was negative. I just had my lupus bloodwork testing done today. I asked my rheum. if the inflammation in my cervix and other areas (breast, bladder) could be related to lupus and she said she could understand why I might think that inflammation is related to lupus but that it could fall under some other "umbrella" - something else casuing the inflammation like infection. I assured her that all infection had been ruled out. She didn't seem to want to commit to the possibility that lupus could cause these abnormal findings.
Several years ago I had the same kind of pap smear when they found a peritoneal tumor wrapped around the base of my bladder that was determined to be a "response to an inflammatory process". I asked my gyn if she thought the pap smear result this time could be related to lupus and she said that she sees this kind of pap smear "every other time", indicating that it is quite common.
Not sure what to think. I don't think I buy that chronic inflammation in the absence of infection "just happens". It would seem to stand to reason that it could be related to an autoimmune disease like lupus. My sister (who was diagnosed with lupus some years ago) had a hysterectomy because of severe pain and hemorrhaging that her gyn said was because lupus attacked her reproductive organs. Her biopsy of that tissue revealed very little if any gyn disease. Soon after her hysterectomy lupus attacked her joints.
Does anyone else have any insight here?
