I had another colonoscopy last week. By far the worst part was doing the prep. While drinking my 2 litres of prep and complaining like a little girl I had a friend tell me that if I pinched my nose closed while drinking I wouldn't be able to taste it. Reluctantly I tried it and it WORKED!!!!! I'm not sure if I was the only person who didn't know this but I had to share it just incase. Hope this helps someone. God Bless.

Another trick is to use a straw. You can put it far enough back in your mouth to avoid a lot of your taste buds.

i am so glad they gave me Magnesium Citrate...a small bottle and does not taste bad. It is no wonder people dread the prep when you have to drink so much horrible stuff! My whole experience with colonoscopy was not unpleasant in any way!

I had the procedure done 5 years ago with no liquid prep. The doctor prescribed tablets (very large) that worked just fine.

MY Aunt just went to the Doctor and he had suggested a Colonoscopy on her and he told her that she would not drink the liquid stuff, that there is a pill you can take that will do the job. I wish my Doctor had of offered me the pill and I wouldn't of cared of they were big or not I would of rather taken the pill anyday. But I made it through my test just fine.
