Hi Marie
I don't know you but I am concerned about you. Is there a pain clinic near you?
Is there someone you can talk to on the phone or have come over to see you?
You sound depressed (not that you shouldn't be). Have you talked to your Dr.'s about this? If not, be sure to call. If you can't see a Dr. soon then you could call a hotline to talk to someone. I know they make housecalls in our town.
Your pain is very real and so is the mental anguish associated with chronic and unrelenting pain. In addition to getting in to see the Dr. you might want to ask if there are any counselors in your area who specialize in Chronic pain issues, just for someone to talk to who may be able to help you find some relief and ways to cope.
It can all be so overwhelming at times. If we look too far ahead it can seem impossible, BUT that's when we need to know it's ok to just "BE" for now. It's ok to break it down into the smallest, most manageable pieces that we can cope with, whatever that means to you, because each of us is different. Can we get through the next 15 minutes? Can we get through the next 5 minutes?
Sometimes a distraction, like focusing on the sound of your breathing in and out, will help relax you. Sometimes lying down with a very soft blanket touching your skin will soothe and bring some comfort. Sometimes listening to some soothing music on a CD or radio station is a bit of a distraction, enough so that maybe you were able to see that 5 minutes had passed and you didn't realize it.
But please do call your DR.
My prayers are with you, Marie!
