Just got test results from Glucose Tolerance:

Fasting 93
1/2 hr. 134
1 hr. 146
2 hr. 117
3 hr. 49
4 hr. 68

I was diagnosed with enlarged thyroid & had fine needle biopsy on a nodule that came back benign. Does being hypoglycemic have anything to do with the thyroid? Seems like many of the symptoms are the same.

Dr. told me no refined sugar, bread, potato's pasta, or deserts (except sugar free) & to limit fruits. I'm overwhelmed!!!!!

My symptoms are lightheadedness, pressure in temples, vision problems (blurry vision, occular migrains) tingling on lips, hair loss, palpitations, anxiety,
lack of motivation, depression, & ulnar entrapment (sort of like carpral tunnel)

It's been a long road of testing & living with the way I feel. I've had to fight for the Dr. to do many test.

I would appreciate any tips, opinions & advice. Thanks.

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto disease a few months ago which affects my thyroid. I have a under active thyroid and started taking meds for it. Then 30 days ago I was diagnosed with type 2. I keep hearing from people that they kind of go hand in hand. Thyroid problems run in my family, but diabetes doesn't so I don't know who to beleive.
The lack of motivation and hair loss are symptoms of underactive thyroid and the blurred vision and light headedness could be symptoms of hypoglycemia.
Hang in there and watch your diet. I totally relate with you and how you feel. I am always exhausted and really have to push myself to go to work everyday, come home to my two children and then go to the gym. Since I have been watching my diet, taking my thyroid and diabetes medications, and exercising more to help bring my bg down, I have felt a little better. I have a long road ahead but I feel like I am getting there, slowly.
Good Luck!
