View Full Version : High Blood Glucose at Night

I have been using the Dexcom CGM for about a month now, and I have actually picked up an interesting trend that I never realized. It seems my blood glucose rises at night. Sometimes I catch it and correct especially if the rise is before bed / after dinner when I am awake. I inject a sliding Humalog at meals and inject 12 U Levemir at bed. However, sometimes I'm fine right before bed, but during sleep the Dexcom beeps and my bg is way too high. Sometimes it stays high until fasting bg the next morning; other times I go right back to a normal fasting bg. When I look at my 9 hour trend graph, I see the peak and lowering by morning. Obviously, I do not want to go too low at night, but on the other hand, I do want to correct these night spikes. Would splitting the Levemir dose posssibly help? Any advice would be appreciated....

Thanks,
Peter
