Ive been having lower stomach pain for 2 weeks now.....its not severe but its enough to drive me insane. I already have an anxiety disorder and this is making it worse.

I went to the ER on sunday, they did a white blood count, cbc and tested my pancreas liver and kidney.......all was fine. They pressed all over my stomache and checked to see if I had any lump near my appendix.

I followed up at my drs yesterday....he is sending me for a colonoscopy and ct scan.

Anyone know what this could be? I'm also burping way more than usual not sure if thats from the anxiety.

Hope

Hi Hope,
It could be a number of things, peptic ulcer, like you said it could be stress related as well...I suggest trying a nice chamomile tea, it soothes your stomach, check out natural ways (herbal) to help your system. That is the best advice I can give. There is plenty of amazing websites filled with herbal remedies just waiting to be discovered...it just depends on the individual, you need to find out what works for you.

Best of luck,

You say "lower stomach pain". Do you mean lower abdominal pain? That could be small or large intestines, appendix, etc. Are you also having diarrhea or constipation? Any signs of bleeding on your stools (bright red or tarry black)? Burping is often caused by swallowing too much air, which can certainly be a byproduct of anxiety.

Its lower abdomen, near my right hip......they checked me for appendicitis. going for additional tests.

No Im not nauseated, and no diareaha. I was having bowel problems but no blood.

Are you constipated? That might cause some abdominal distress. In that case, you need some kind of laxative or bulkener to get you regular again. The colonoscopy will find any large bowel problems. I would guess the CT scan will check out the rest of the abdomen? Sounds like you're getting some pretty thorough testing.

I did have an irregular bowel movement about 4 weeks ago, I couldn't go for days and I thought I was constipated. Turns out I wasnt, I just had a very huge/wide stool. I was in severe pain, I gave birth 3 times without pain meds and I swear this was worse. After that I did have a pain that woke me up in the middle of the night (CRAMP) and I had diarehea......after about 2hrs I went back to bed and that was the end of that. So I'm not sure if this is my stomach pain.....I know the lower intestine makes a sharp right hand turn near your appendix so this might be my problem.

Hopefully the colonoscopy and ct scan will show what it is. The scan is just of my lower right abdomen and pelvis.

Well Ive had this right sided pain that moves for 4 weeks now.

My Ct scan was denied, I must have a sonogram first. The Dr believes I have IBS.......he is sending me for a colonoscopy on march 13 and a sonogram on the 15th.

Since Im 4 weeks in to this and I am no worse than when it started can I rule out appendicitis?

Hope
