Hi Pattie,

I was dx in December with MS. Is your doctor a neurologist? Because I would think he be concerned about you losing vision in your right eye. Did he not send you to an eye specialist? My MRI didn't show lesions. I had a evoked potenials done (all three parts). When it came back abnormal for eyes and legs, then I had my LP done. Has your sight returned in your right eye? When I had blood work done they took many vials of it to rule out other diseases. Did your doctor just do a rountine lab work or extensive? Your doctor dx you with (Seasonal Affective Disorder) SAD. You don't lost vision or have vertigo or numbness with SAD.

MS does cause fatigue, numbness, optic neuritis, vertigo but so does other diseases. If your doctor is not a neurogolist you need to see one. If he is a neuro, you need to see another neurologist that knows about MS. You are not crazy and it is not all in your head. MS is very hard to diagnosed. However, you have symptoms going on that need to be addressed and SAD doesn't explain it. I am not saying I think you have MS or that you don't because I am not a doctor. But your symptoms are neurological and you need to find out what is causing them.

I have lived with vertigo or losing balance for 15 years. Some days are better than other days. I know this must be very hard for you. I hope that you are feeling better soon.

Please DO see a Neurologist. He/she will do the tests necessary to rule everything else on the planet out before the "final" lumbar punch test that really puts the nuts on the whipped creme and cherry of your proverbial health sundae.

I personally never lost sight nor have lost the ability to drive; sounds like you are dealing with a lot. I hope you find answers soon!

I think tiredbunni pretty much nailed it. SAD definitely does not explain the neurological problems you're experiencing. The only thing I can add to what's already been posted is to try not to lose hope that you will find that doctor who does care enough to find out what's really going on. Had my diagnosis not come relatively quickly I am not sure my husband would have taken my symptoms so seriously. I can be hard when you don't have that 'expert' confirming what you pretty much already know. It's your body though and you know something's wrong so be persistent.
