Hello all, I have absolutely no signs of hair loss; thick hair, no recession. No one has ever said anything to me. 27 y/o male. When I use hair gel to "spike" my hair with sticky hair gel I have increasingly noticed hairs sticking to my fingertips. Tonight I got very nervous and attempted to continuously spike my hair and see how many hairs I was really capable of losing. After playing with my hair for approximately 15 mins I figure I was able to have ~60-70 hairs in the sink. I STUDIED my scalp and hair and used mirrors to check out all areas of the top of my head, yet see absolutely nothing to hint at balding. What are your guys thoughts. Do I need to start rogaine/propecia? I am very nervous about this situation.

Please give me some advice.

Mark

You've already stated that your hair is thick and show no signs of hair loss or recession. Is anyone in your family bald on either side of your family? Rogaine/Propecia are usually intended for people who've run out of options. Hair loss like you're describing could just simply be a result of recent stress or poor diet. It might not even be a result of anything. That isn't a large amount of hair to lose given the fact that you played with it for 15 minutes.

Does it only happen when you use the hair gel? What about switching to another brand? I've had hair loss from certain brands of shampoos.
